Program description:

After completion of this program, the student shall be able to understand the concepts and perform basic cribbing/
stabilization for vehicle extrication by using the following:

  • Definition of stabilization 
  • In depth anatomy of vehicles by type 
  • Materials used for cribbing 
  • Limitations of cribbing 
  • Limitations of stabilization   
  • Types of cribbing methods 
  • Stabilization methods for commercial vehicles and heavy equipment 
  • Stabilization of vehicles that are suspended or partially suspended  
  • Stabilization of vehicles on their side, roof, off road or unstable ground  
  • Mitigating the underride incident 
  • Lifting vehicles  
  • The need for additional resources
