Program description:

After of completion of this program the student shall be able to mitigate a slope evacuation.
  • Introduction to technical rope rescue  
  • Ropes and rigging Knots, bends and hitches  
  • Introduction to Rigging, Anchoring and Mechanical Advantage Systems  
  • Construct a Single Point Anchor  
  • Provide Edge Protection   
  • Construct a Simple Rope Mechanical Advantage System (1:1)  
  • Construct a Z Rig System (3:1)  
  • Construct a Piggyback Rig System (4:1)  
  • Perform a Safety Check  Construct and operate a mechanical system in a low-angle environment  
  • Function as a litter tender  
  • Construct and operate a lowering system in a low-angle environment  
  • Conduct a safety check  
  • Introduction to victim management  
  • Support triage of victims Secure a victim in a litter
